Wonderful warm Wednesday! Empty Wonderful warm Wednesday!

Post  poppytree Wed Jan 20, 2010 6:23 am

29 degrees and still rising. Getting ready for a dip in the pool this afternoon. Went to the local shopping centre this morning and got loads of bits we needed (including birthday presents for Emily, a pair of cream cropped trousers for me one size smaller and only $20 - less than 10 pounds and a camera card reader as I forgot my lead to download photos onto the computer!)

Had my first session on the Wii yesterday and feeling pleased with myself. In spite of an old lady looking back at me from the mirror with dodgy knees and in the obese section rather than just overweight, I am a spritely 35 year old after my fitness test. All those weeks doing aerobics and Pilates must have done me some good as my core strength and balance are well above average for my natural age.

The heat seems to be helping my knee as I don't feel too many after effects from the shopping trip. Hope everyone is OK. Loved that handbag card Lou. Sending warm (very warm) hugs to all. Thinking of you in all that cold, fog and rain.

Off to watch the cycling (Tour Down Under) tomorrow as it passes quite near Karen's house. Won't see much as they whizz by so quickly. http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,26610435-5018559,00.html

Post  Karen R Wed Jan 20, 2010 10:55 am

Morning...

Busy day for me.... going to the Drs, with Mum - she still isnt any better, not sleeping, feeling very low and still got this sciatica. Have told her she must tell him exactly how she feels, I can only say how I see her. Also she has an appointment at the Breast Clinic... think this appointment may have something to do with what I said awhile back to the Dr. I didnt think she had the support after her mastectomy 5 years ago and I thought it was that, that was bothering her. But its a mixture of things, losing my Dad, loneliness plus she has to go for this brain scan and she is worried about that.
Then later on I have Parents evening.

More snow predicted for today... hoping we dont get any!!!
Will pop back later - take care have a lovely day xx

Good morning all,

Firsty sending out more positive vibes over to Irenland for Jayne. Hope you by now have your passport sorted and have the all clear to get yourself over there. Glad Dean is being taken care of. You take care now and we will be here for you when you get back x Pass on my love to Jayne and her family please x Keeping everyhting crossed that she starts to improve soon..... your twin radar must be off the scale at the moment xx

Had a bad night and woke in so much pain this morning I could hardly move, but the duvet fell off a couple of times in the night and its very cold wet and yukky here so I think that didn't help. Put the TENS machine on and took my tablets accompanied by a cooked brekkie from hubby (still grovelling after our ruck) and then when it calmed down and I managed to get in the shower using my new swivel chair! It is easier but not much so may have to think of an alternative soon. Feeling a bit better now.

Was worried earlier as I had a phone call from the hospital, was so worried that they were gonna cancel or postpone but in fact they have bought the epidural forward an hour. So thats 9am tomorrow morning now!!! Yippee! I am seriously on countdown now...

Good luck with the sewing Jacky, I used to love that and it was my best GCSE result, never done anything like it except sewing on button and repariring rips since I left school!

Hope you feel a bit better soon Lexie, hope you are not coming down with something hun x

Karen hope the doctor listens to your mum and but in if she aint telling him enough! My hubby does that with me if he thinks I am not giving the full story!

M glitter pot order arrived yesterday and the forever friends stamps are divine and a bargain at £2.24 each I think. May have to play later!

Hugs to anyone who is poorly xxxxxx

Lou - Glad you are still getting your epidural tomorrow, thought at first you were going to say it was cancelled What a Face Lexie, hope you are feeling better soon, don't let that cough get a hold - go see the Doctor you sound really run down.

I used to make all my own clothes when I first got married but I really don't do any now, don't even repair things either Laughing Mum used to do lots of repairs for people, putting in zips - even in trousers What a Face - new pockets and taking things up. She also used to make belts for the Bon Marche. People who made their own clothes would take a piece of their material to the shop and they would send it to mum to make a proper buckled belt with it. Dad made her a dies to bend the wire round to make the buckle - wow that brings back memories Laughing Laughing I enjoy using the embroidery machine but not under pressure. Should make some cards using it too Rolling Eyes

Can't believe it, tried to show Martin what had happened and it worked perfectly Mad Mad until I started the next t-shirt and it all went wrong again. At least he has 2 embroidered and 1 plain one. I am giving up before I make a hole in it and he ends up with only 2 to wear Laughing If I sort the machine out and he still wants it done when he gets back, I will do it Very Happy

some disc drives do dvd-r and some dvd+r and you can get some that do either, it should tell you in small writing on the front of your discdrive. I have to have dvd+r or dvd+rw - hope that helps Very Happy
