SATURDAY

Good morning all, another sunny morning here but now I want it to cool down My rash hasn't improved at all and I am so itchy. Got to get on with some cards today but think I will take the stuff downstairs as this room is soooo warm already. Was going to an army display today but think I may stay in out of the sun. Martin has gone out for a ride on his bike in preparation for his 100 mile bike ride next weekend. Take care all, hugs to anyone who needs one today

Think the heat is getting to me - feel very jaded today. Roy has gone to London to a toy soldier fair and has just phoned to say he's had enough now and I wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes! Think I'll have to go and get these glasses adjusted - can't see computer screen properly and that will never do!

Jacky try putting bicarb in a cool bath - used to do that for the kids when they had chicken pox - it seems to help the itch.

Glad to see Lou is OK - surprised their getting her up so soon but I suppose that's what they do these days.

Jan that made me laugh - no I will make him suffer He didnt seem too bad this morning when he came back, he had ridden to Fleet via Aldershot and he came back Tweseldown way to practise the hills as that is what he is more worried about I thought he had gone on his electric bike but it turns out it was his pushbike. Thanks for the info on Lou Jan - poor thing having to move - hope they have given her plenty of morphine. I will try the bicarb Sue, I remember doing that when mine had chickenpox too, had forgotten about that. Just been out to M & S to get some linen trousers to wear this afternoon to the Army show at Deepcut and then we have been invited by our neighbours to a bbq tonight so thought I needed something to cover me up and be cool. It turns out that our neighbour is going to a caravan rally with his club to Kings Lynn at the same time as us and the same site

Evening everyone , had a very hot day in the 'Barn thought I was going to exspire it was ( as Janet would say ...a tad warm ! ) .Hope Jan and Janet had a good lunch and a good time together.Martin must be mad a 100 miles on his push bike ??!! Hope your itching goes soon have you tried the E45 with hydrocortisone ? good suff for itchy rashes . got to be up at 5 to take stepson wife and friends to Gatwick ...Don't do mornings very well !!!

Feeling 'pooped'

Had a great day. Up and away by nine and spent the day at Waddesden Manor (home of the Rothschilds) near Aylesbury.

An amazing house (huge chateau really) with sumptuous collections of China - Sevres and Meissen, Great paintings, 45 rooms on view, modern glass exhibition, fabulous gardens etc........

It was also MAD day - music, arts and dance with 2 huge stages in front of the house and lots to see and do. The rose gardens were amazing. All old fashioned ones with wonderful perfume not the usual gaudy but scentless 'hybrid teas'

Enjoyed our picnic followed by icecreams and got home at 5.30. Had a late supper and watching the tennis - Murray. Its getting a bit tense (3-3 in the 3rd set having won the first 2) so popped on for an update. I'll download the photos tomorrow, if time. (if not on here, they'll be on my blog) Off to a BBQ for lunch then the big match!

There would have been some more things if the thieving Johnsons hadn't broken in and stolen so much. Thank goodness some of them are behind bars now - Cheltenham crime went down drastically when they were put away

Glad you had a good time with Janet Jan, and pleased that you liked the dies too That has made a bit of space on my shelves Just got back from our neighbours bbq and the house has been shut up since 5.00 It is so hot in here so all doors and windows are open now to cool it down before going to bed. I threatened to sleep downstairs on the kitchen tiles and the itching is worse today than yesterday as I have long sleeves and trousers on to protect me from the sun but it doesn't help the heat. Cool shower in a minute to cool me down before bed. I bet you were really hot at the Barn Lexie. Hope you wake up in the morning 5. I know I wake early but don't get up

Evening from a very hot and sunny Dominican Republic!
Managed to get on the internet... cant get on in the Reception area of the hotel, only in the room and then that is from the Hotel next door!!
Having a lovely time, been at the beach all day - now in the room cooling down. Waiting to go for our evening meal.
The hotel is lovely as is the food.
Hope everyone is ok... havent had chance to read through all the posts... will do that when I get back!!
