SUPER SATURDAY

Its New Years Eve and a very strange one for us. I'm used to being wrapped up in layers of clothes and trying to keep warm - not stripping off and trying to stay cool!

Had a busy morning with the girls - playing in the park, hide and seek in the house, reading and watching TV. Too hot for cooking or playing outside now and we're off to the lovely Belair Hotel to have lunch with Karen and Paul. May go to Glenelg tonight to watch the fireworks but we'll have to park some distance away and walk in as roads are closed and thousands turn up to celebrate the New Year.

Morning Jane and all who follow...

I know its NYE, but it doesnt seem like its a Saturday, nor does it seem a year has passed!

Well starting off the New Year with tenants in Mum's house... been catching up last minute jobs, all done now and they are moving in tomorrow. I got quite tearful yesterday, after been in and going in the house for 50 years, I will no longer be able to. But, at least it is there for the future. We 'fired' up the heating, not knowing if it would work after having to move the oil tank. But within a couple of hours... it was warm and toasty... just like Mum would have it.
So today, taking down the rest of the deccies, have been taking a few down - but Amy wanted to keep them up. Its just the tree to come down, put furniture back and then back to normal!

Good morning all. It does seem a strange NYE to me too this year. Just want life to get back to normal now. I know what you mean about leaving a house. Mum & Dad had to leave their house as it was compulsory purchased to widen the road so it disappeared altogether and it was the house with the most memories for me from the age of 10 until I was married. Glad you have managed to rent it out now. Enjoy your NY in Oz Jane, it is such a different time for you.

Don't get on to post much nowadays but do try to keep up with you all and wanted to come on to
wish you A Happy New Year.

2011 has been a nightmare for us so we shall be opening the back door to kick into touch and hopefully
the front door will bring in a better 2012.

Am off now to pick up the godchildren who are celebrating with us tonight and then staying until Monday lunchtime.
