Post  cubbie66 Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:20 am

Good morning Janet, Andrea and all who follow Smile
Well it happened again yesterday, we had another earthquake, Mike and I were sitting downstairs and the tv cabinet and the doors in built in cupboard shook, just momentarily maybe 1 or 2 seconds at the most but enough for us to notice, the electric stayed on; unlike last time and neither of us thought anymore of it, just thought maybe next door had dropped something really heavy or something. Mike went into work today and just texted me and said it was another earthquake, only 2.8 this time and the epicentre was about 3 miles below Folkestone, reading the BBC website it said it was very localised but the time we had that happen at home was at the same time they say it hit Folkestone so maybe not as localised as they think and we werent the only ones to feel it here in Dover. I was chatting to Jen on MSN yesterday after it happened and didnt even mention it, wish I had of done now Laughing
Was blowing a hoolie here to Janet, so much so Mike had to get up and tape the letterbox shut Laughing
Hope everyone is well today, take care Smile

We've had wind and showers for most of the day but still 20 degrees - so visited central market in town and Harbour Village outlet near the airport - great prices! Should be fine again tomorrow and for the next week but we have had 15mm rain over 2 days which was much needed

We also had an earthquake last Friday (3 on the Richter scale) which was quite scary as it lasted for 3 - 4 minutes then a few after shocks

Morning all

Went to my daughters on sunday and stayed till monday night then yesterday was a bad day for me it was the anniversary of my dad;s death 19yrs but it dosnt get any easier, still have really bad days, just sit and cry all day, will be ok in a couple of days.

We have sun and blue skys at the mo dont know how long it will last though, i have cards to make for the weekend if they turn up to get them, have had people order things before at the bric a brac and have gone out and bought the decoupage special for them and then they dont turn up really p;s me off.

We had a earth quake once the epicentre was in Dudley and we are only 3 miles away derek was on nights and i thought i was on my own, there was this rummbling behind my wardrobes has they are pine and very heavy i woke up and thought what the h--- is going on, then the landing light came on then i was freaked has i thought i was the only one in the house, then my son came running upstairs saying whats going on all the kitchen cupboard doors are opening, i didnt know he had come home and it was him who put the light on ha ha, but it was scary.

Right off for a cuppa, and brekie then make these cards take care all back later.

Afternoon everyone. It's freezing cold here but at the least the sun is out now. I had to scrape the car before I could take the kids to school this morning Mad

I'm going to try and get some cards made today and then get the kids to make theirs for my Dad so that I can get them posted tomorrow. Smile

Hope you managed to stay warm today.

Have a good day whatever you are doing Smile Smile Smile

Good evening ladies - I'm late again. Seemed to be busy all morning but no idea what I've done! Reading group this afternoon. Michael came round with 3 pairs of trousers that needed mending! Time he found a good woman - who can sew! Looks like he'll be getting the car repaired without the insurance. he though his excess was £250 which is bad enough but its £500. Another £250 compulsory excess because he's not 25 till next month. Pity they didn't wait a few months before they vandalised it. Roy is on the mend so back to work tomorrow. This week seems to have flown by - soon be the weekend again.

Post  Christine 1 Wed Mar 04, 2009 10:32 pm

Hi folks.

Sorry not been around I have unfortunately been ill with a chest infection and although I am back to work (only took 1 day off, should of taken more) I am still not 100%.

I have been trying to catch up with E Mail's, pen pal letters, birthdays & now I have my 'cricut' and got the USB cable to work - probs with my printer port Sad) - I haven't had much time to be on the PC.

However this is a quick note as I am on holiday from Sat - 2 days left at work yippee Smile - and away abroad for a week so I thought I would say hi now before I go otherwise it will be another fortnight before I get on here & you guys will wonder if I am ok - well I am not but you know what I mean.

Hope everyone is ok I hear there were some bad weather in the North of the country today - floods etc on the M6 (well that's what I heard on the radio) but we have had sunny spells down here all day and I think set to continue...........well it is where I am going!!!

Catch up with you after my holiday & take care everyone.

Bye for now

Christine

PS forgot to say also went to a scrap book class last week & loved it can’t wait to go again but not until April now 

Post  Jenny M Thu Mar 05, 2009 2:35 am

Hi ladies Smile I'm a bit subdued today as Tash nearly died last night and they don't know what caused the problem for her. She's still at the vet's on a drip but hoping to get her home tomorrow night. The emergency vet asked us to ring at 2 hr intervals during the night to check on her as he was running tests to try and solve the problem. Then this morning she was transferred to our vet's and they took over the care side of it. The poor love has lumps of skin dropping off her tongue and leaving her with raw blistered tongue, then it dries up blue/grey and drops off again Sad It looks like a severe reaction to some sort of poison apparently, her temp shot up to 40.5 so she also had cold baths overnight to help lower it. They finally got it back to 38 at around 5pm today. I will be so pleased to have her home so that we can have cuddles again Smile I went to visit her today but its not the same as she was on the drip and in the cage Sad

I'll let you know how we get on tomorrow Smile night night - sorry to be so antisocial tonight but I'm worn out

Hugs
Jen
