My, you're an early bird. No wonder its still dark!
Got a class this morning and aerobics and SWIM after lunch.
Still getting over the excitment of the Grand Prix yesterday - went to bed with terrible indigestion.

Must go and get dressed now and spring into action. Not easy when its cold and grey outside, warm and cosy in my bed or have lots of posts to catch up with and respond to.

Morning ladies! Hopefully today will go to plan! Got a desk being delivered this afternoon so got to do a bit of clearing out to make room for it, (After I've built it that is!)
Started on card swap yesterday afternoon but that got put on hold. Youngest son Michael (24 years old!) keeps his bike in my garage as the flat he shares has no storage for it and came down to go for a bike ride. 30 minutes later he's back with a suspected broken arm! So I spent the next four hours with him at Frimley Park hospital! And yes it is broken - doctor tried to convince him first it might only be bruised - but as he has broken bones before he knew it was broken. Now of course he can't drive so his car is here, I've got to take him to fracture clinic on Wednesday then when he goes back to work on Friday guess who is going to have to get up and take him? So early starts and late dinners for me for a few weeks. He does 12 hour shifts from 7am - 7pm. Oh the joys of motherhood. I thought all this had finished when he moved out. How wrong could I be!

Morning ladies Smile Or afternoon for Janet he he Smile Hope you get the deliveries you are waiting for Andrea and Sue and that they come on time. I hate waiting on deliveries as you feel you can't start much just in case they come.

Hope your son's arm heals quickly and thus means less taxi driver work for you Sue.

I see you're on speed again today Jane he he we'll have to have a word with your doctor to adjust your meds he he Smile

Driving your fully legit car this week Jayne, its a great feeling isn't it when it passes Smile

Hugs to all from a sunny crisp Cardiff Smile

Went for our walk this morning with the U3A around Compton area. Weather not too bad for walking, dry and not too windy or cold. Had lunch at the pub from where we started and ended which was good Very Happy but when we came out it was drizzling and on the drive home the clouds were very low and misty. Got badminton tonight, if I can still walk Laughing

Hope your son's arm heals quickly Sue, at least he can still go to work, so I presume its not the one he uses for writing Smile and hope your desk arrives on time - nothing worse than staying in all day for it not to turn up Mad

Jen have you recovered from your craft show and babysitting Very Happy

Hope everyone has had a good day Very Happy

Not fully recovered yet Jacky, but well enough to make cards so am happy he he Smile Thanks for asking hun Smile I had planned on what could have been a great night out on Wednesday. Its an organised walk along the Beacons taking you to a spot where you can see for miles. The idea being that you can watch all the firework displays in the area from one focal point, then return to the clubhouse for some home made soup with home made bread rolls. Sounds brilliant until I realised when some fireworks went off last night that Tash hasn't grown out of being petrified of them, so there is no way I can go and leave her on her own on Bonfire night. Ah well there will be other years when she hopefully grows up and is not as bothered by them as she is now.

Do any of you have anything planned for Wednesday night ? Smile

Oh Sue I hope your son's arm heals soon.

I have had my best friend staying since Thursday and she went back home earlier tonight
She wont mind me saying this but boy can she talk!!!! What a Face
Jimmy absolutely adores her and of course the fact that she loves walking him helps that along Wink
So all is very quiet in the Hallet household tonight Very Happy

We celebrated our 4th anniversary on the 29th
We just had a very quiet meal in and Alan bought me this massive orchid plant I love you
We now have 4 orchids on the living-room windowsill and it is starting to resemble the botanical gardens Laughing Laughing
He also bought me Paul O'Grady's autobiography Very Happy
I haven't been able to concentrate on a book for ages but have found myself enjoying this
There is so much in it that brings back memories of my own childhood

I am hoping I can now get back to reading a bit more now as I used to be a right bookworm
The problem being I usually prefer in-depth books which take a lot of concentration

We have also treated ourselves to some new furniture for the livingroom
There is a new shop in the town centre and the Indian teak furniture is out of this world!!
So we treated ourselves to a nest of tables and 2 small round tables
They are inlaid with brass and carved on the top as well
On Saturday we bought the media centre to match and it arrived today as well

The decorating of the livingroom is not finished yet but we just couldn't resist this furniture for our new look Very Happy
Apart from that nothing much else to report
Hope you are all well Wink

Morning all. Hope you son's arm mends soon Crying or Very sad and the chauffering isn't too disruptive Sue. Did the desk arrive on time?

Happy anniversary Sadie and I love the sound of all your new furniture. cheers The room must look lovely now and will be stunning once all the decorating is finished.

Jen, hope you've recovered now Sleep and that Tash copes with the fireworks this week.

Jacky, sounds like you had as energetic a day as me. bounce Made some nice cards in class yesterday -will try to post pictures later. We were making tissue collage backgrounds then punching/cutting out Christmas shapes for 3-4 quick cards.

No need to adjust my meds, Jen. geek Just glad to be able to swim again even though I only managed 16 lengths. I could do a mile (64) before I had to stop. After only losing half a pound in over 2 weeks I'm hoping to change that by Thursday!

Bit dull and grey here but hopefully should brighten up later.

Glad you had a good time with your friend Sadie. I find it tiring when I have people staying however well I know them. I get very tense worrying about things when in the back of my mind I know they wouldn't care what the house looks like etc. Have a restful time out reading your book Laughing

Thanks Jackie
Yes it is tiring
It reminds me of what Mum used to say about her Grandchildren 'It is lovely to see them but also lovely to see them go' and that was a woman who absolutely adored her brood

What lovely cards Jane Very Happy
You have my mind working overtime now
I am going to have a few days rest...........well between going on here and reading my book and then make a concerted effort on my Christmas cards santa rendeer

Nice to see you again Sadie. Glad you had a good time with your friend.

Love thase cards Jane!

Glad to say the desk arrived on time. I've spent this afternoon crawling round the floor building it and after pilates this morning - boy can i feel my legs beginning to ache!.

Anyway it's in place now and once the glue has dried I've just got to tackle moving all the computer stuff around then the craft stuff! Might have it sorted by next week!

Got fracture clinic tomorrow with Michael. He's in quite a bit of pain and nor sleeping as they only put a collar and cuff on so if he moves in his sleep it really hurts. Maybe tomorrow they will put a plaster on.

I can't say I'm looking forward to taking him to work for the next 6 weeks at 6.30am!

Glad you managed to assemble it ok Sue, nothing missing or bits left over Laughing You won't know yourself now you will have a craft table to work on. It is so much easier if you can leave things you are in the middle of out. Very Happy Hope they put Michaels arm in plaster, that must be so painful for him. Is he taking painkillers.

I really must get on my pilates machine again. It is out in the middle of the dining room and I still haven't got round to doing it. Embarassed

It will be nice to regain the dining room table and have the downstairs looking tidy instead of a war zone! As its a longe/diner I'm always very conscious of how messy it looks if anyone comes in.

I keep saying I must use my pilates machine again - it is in the spare bedroom so no excuse really and the classes are only once a week. Mind you the way my legs feel today I couldn't manage more than one.

I hope they put his arm in plaster too as I'm concerned it won't set straight if they don't. He can't afford to have problems with it that might require an operation as he doesn't get sick pay. Only taking painkillers from chemist as hospital didn't give him any!
